McClory, co-authored the original "Thunderball" story (with Fleming and
screenwriter Jack Whittingham), there for he had the rights to remake
thunderball. So he did just that when he made Never Say Never Again. Never Say
Never Again sees Sean Connery return as bond for the very last time.
SPECTRE agents under the command of Ernst Blofeld infiltrate a US air force base
situated in the UK and steal two Tomahawk cruise missiles. When NATO is held to
ransom, the British reactive their "00" agents and send James Bond to recapture
the warheads and kill Blofeld.
