As soon as Daniel Craig was unveiled as the sixth 007, media speculation on who will be the next bond girls has been rampant. Three names have received the most coverage: Angelina Jolie, Kimberley Davies and Charlize Theron. At first the rumours of Angelina Jolie appeared to be based purely on her past history with Craig in "Tomb Raider", but the story soon expanded to include talk of scripts and Jolie demanding a darker character to the traditional Bond girl - which Vesper Lynd surely satisfies.

Australian actress Kimberley Davies was the next name to be linked with a Bond girl role, with German media outlets citing "insider" sources claiming she was under serious consideration for both her looks and her acting ability. But Davies has already played a Bond girl. Gamers may recall that she voiced the Australian character Alura McCall in the 2002 videogame "NightFire".

South African actress Charlize Theron is the latest name to be linked with a role, as the The Daily Mirror "exclusively" reported that Academy Award winner was being lined up as Vesper. According to the paper, "she is British director Martin Campbell's first choice". Cynics may point to the fact that Theron is currently promoting her latest movie, "Aeon Flux", in which she is reported to have commanded a £6 million pay day.

Brit pop star Robbie Williams is being asked to sing the theme tune to the Casino Royale movie according to Ireland Online.

Veteran singer Tony Christie has written a song that he believes suits Robbie's voice perfectly and it is a contender to accompany Casino Royale.

He says: "Robbie's voice would suit it down to the ground, plus he's current and hip so it would be absolutely great if he did it. We tried to make it a typical Bond theme tune with a throbbing dramatic bassline filling the background. I'm a huge fan of the old school 007 songs like Shirley Bassey with Goldfinger and Tom Jones singing Thunderball, so I tried to give it that authentic sound. We are due to record it in February."

Earlier this year director Martin Campbell admitted filming a nasty torture scene where Bond has his manhood whacked with a carpet-beater would be difficult.

He is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I'm still not quite sure how I'm going to film that scene"
