Feb 26 - First pictures of Daniel Craig as 007 in the Bahamas

The first pictures of Daniel Craig as James Bond 007 in Casino Royale have come to light this weekend - from the filming in the Bahamas.

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet unveiled the first pictures of Craig on the beach shooting scenes for "Casino Royale" yesterday.

The latest US edition of People magazine also carries photos from the production.

Feb 17 - Eva Green Is Vesper Lynd

French actress Eva Green will play the major Bond Girl role - Vesper Lynd. She was first rumours for the role last week by the British tabloids. The 25 year-old actress is best known for her role as Sibylla in the 2005 blockbuster "Kingdom of Heaven".

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said, "We are thrilled that Eva and Mads have joined the cast of 'Casino Royale' completing a first rate international cast. They bring exceptional talent to the characters Ian Fleming described so vividly in his first James Bond novel."

"After an extensive search we have found the perfect actress. Eva is one of France's most accomplished young actresses, now receiving international acclaim. She brings to the complex role of Vesper an exciting combination of enigmatic and seductive beauty.

Feb 10 - Loket Castle to feature as Casino Royale shooting location

In brief Casino Royale production news, location shooting will take place at Loket Castle in the Czech Republic - according to local newspaper Novinky.

The castle is approximately 135 km from Prague, but only 15 km from Karlovy Vary - a historic spa town which will be used extensively for exterior filming.

The Loket Castle was founded at the end of the 12th century during the reign of Wenceslas I and in the first half of the 13th century the town started to develop around the castle. Loket became a place of frequent visits and stays of Czech kings and place of diplomatic negotiations - e.g. Jan Lucembursky, Karel IV or Vaclav IV during his reign the castle became an important state fortress and later also a prison.

Since 1898 the Municipal Museum has been there displaying chinaware and local history, archeology and history of the castle. In the present time there is a unique exposition of prison service with great collection of torture tool from the 15th century. The Church of St. Wenceslas from the 13th century can be found in Loket as well.

Loket Castle is also a cultural spot which offers many concerts and celebrations during the year.

Feb 04 - Omega to launch new James Bond range of watches for Casino Royale

MI6.co.uk has revealed that Swiss watchmaker Omega will be supplying a new watch for James Bond again in Casino Royale - due out in theatres November 17th 2006.

Omega will be launching a new James Bond range of watches to coincide with the new film and new 007 Daniel Craig.

Following the end of his tenure as 007, Pierce Brosnan ended his association with the company at the end of 2005. It is expected that Daniel Craig will takeover the vacant ambassador position.

"James Bond, the character, is Omega's international ambassador, not Brosnan himself", explained Omega's President Stephen Urquhart.

Urquhart said the new Omega will "star in a different way from its earlier roles in the Bond movies."
